Canada’s ABC Technologies acquires TI Fluid Systems
Canadian firm ABC Technologies has closed the acquisition of TI Fluid Systems, a provider of automotive fluid storage, carrying and delivery systems. The deal, which was first announced in November 2024, has an enterprise value of over £1.8bn ($2.37bn). The merged business, named TI Automotive, will have a combined revenue of $5.4bn and a workforce of about 34,600 across 26 countries. The transaction is expected to enhance the combined entity’s global presence and product offerings.
Scania to acquire Northvolt’s heavy industry battery packs unit
Scania, the truck manufacturing unit of Volkswagen, has agreed to acquire Industrial Division of Northvolt Systems to strengthen its off-road electrification capabilities. The deal includes the takeover of a production facility, a research and development centre, and approximately 260 employees. Northvolt Systems Industrial Division’s operations are split between two sites including a leased production site in Gdańsk, Poland, and an R&D centre located in Tomteboda, Stockholm, Sweden.
Infineon signs $2.5bn deal to acquire Marvell’s Automotive Ethernet business
Germany-based chipmaker Infineon Technologies is set to enhance its automotive systems capabilities with the acquisition of Marvell Technology’s Automotive Ethernet business. The deal, valued at $2.5bn in cash, is expected to complement Infineon’s position in the automotive microcontroller market. Marvell’s Automotive Ethernet portfolio, known for its Brightlane products, includes PHY transceivers, switches, and bridges, supporting data rates from 100Mbps to a market-leading 10Gbps.
LGES to acquire GM’s stake in battery plant for KRW3trn
LG Energy Solution Ltd (LGES) has agreed to acquire General Motors’ stake in one of their JV plants in the US for KRW3trn (US$2.05bn). The two companies have a 50:50 joint venture in the US called Ultium Cells LLC, which has three battery plants. GM plans to sell its stake in the Lansing facility to LGES following slow EV sales in North America.
